Rhinophyma

Rhinophyma describes a persistent, firm, thickening of the tissue of the nose that is seen in some patients with rosacea

Rosacea

Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin condition which affects mainly middle aged white skinned people. It cannot be cured but can be controlled.

Rosacea Redness and Flushing

The basic principles of redness and flushing reduction are (1) Physical – reduce the number of excess blood vessels and prevent more from re-forming (2) Pharmacological- reduce the tendency of blood vessels to vasodilate (expand) by reducing the general inflammation or by directly targeting the blood vessels themselves.

Skin cancer

Skin cancers are the most common forms of cancer in the western world. The vast majority are due to sun damage and previous episodes of sun burn. Most are not life threatening. Everyone needs to self monitor their skin and see a Dermatologist if any new skin lesions develop or if existing skin lesions change.

Viral warts occur when the skin cells in the top layer of the skin ( keratinocyte cells) are infected by the human papilloma virus (HPV).
